Organizations that Help the Homeless of New York City

As my previous blog post explains, homelessness is a significant problem in New York City. With over 60,000 homeless people in New York City, something clearly needs to be done about this issue. Luckily there are many non-profit organizations that specifically aim to help the homeless population in the city. Homelessness is an experience that every New Yorker has shared- either you know someone who has been homeless, you have been homeless, or you have seen someone who is homeless on a sidewalk or in the subway. According to the coalition for the homeless, in recent years homelessness in New York City has reached the highest levels since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
